An incurable traveler, hiker, adventurer, and gardener, Andrea guides those with injuries and chronic health conditions to live life to the fullest through the practices of yoga and spending time with nature. Without yoga as an anchor of her daily life, she would not be able to do the outdoor activities that she loves so much.
Through yoga, she has transformed herself physically and emotionally after undergoing 17 orthopedic surgeries over the course of 2+ decades. She believes in functional movement, especially in our modern tech-driven society. One of the best ways to naturally move our bodies, the way they are designed to move, is by spending time outdoors. One of her main focuses is on the common threads between yoga and connection to Nature. She shares these ideas by leading in-person and virtual Mindful Outdoor Experiences.
Andrea is an ERYT-500 and YACEP yoga teacher offering weekly yoga classes at 2 YMCAs as well as private yoga instruction. She has also completed certifications in Accessible Yoga, Yin Yoga, and TRX Yoga. She is a Certified Mindful Outdoor Guide through the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership, as well as an ACE Certified Health Coach, helping people make positive lifestyle changes.
She invites you to hike and travel virtually with her at www.BluesBoots.com. More information about Mindful Outdoor Experiences can be found on this website. A list of Andrea’s recommended movement and nature-related readings and resources can be found here as well. She is the author of A Year of Mindfulness With Nature: 52 weeks of Mindfulness Ideas and Journal Prompts Inspired by Nature.
