Welcome to the Capricorn New Moon:

This Capricorn New Moon invites you to come back to what truly matters — not through pressure or over-effort, but through discernment, patience, and grounded commitment. Capricorn is the builder and steward of the zodiac, reminding you that meaningful growth happens through steady intention, clear boundaries, and devotion to what lasts. As both the sun and moon meet in this earth sign, you’re invited to clarify your priorities, release what drains your energy, and step into responsibility from a place of self-respect rather than obligation. This New Moon asks you to build your path thoughtfully, honoring both your capacity and your long-term vision.

Our featured Apana Mudra embodies this grounded Capricorn energy — a stabilizing hand shape that supports release, patience, and embodied trust. This mudra helps anchor your energy into the body, creating a steady foundation so discipline and ambition can arise sustainably, without rigidity or self-judgment. You could also pair this practice with the reflections or embodiment practices in the Capricorn New Moon Embodied Workbook if you’d like to work more intentionally with this lunar energy, or with the Capricorn Season Workbook if you feel called to continue deepening your relationship with Capricorn’s wisdom.

And if you’d like to move through the lunar cycles in community, our memberships are here to hold you — with live classes, recorded practices, new and full moon workbooks, and an ever-growing library of supportive tools. Check out ways to practice mudras and more with our empowering yoga community on our live class schedule.

Katrina Marie Yoga is a supportive space to practice, reflect, and remember that you don’t have to carry everything alone. You can simply start where the moon is — right here, right now — and allow her to guide you back to your own sense of steadiness, integrity, and inner authority.

Above all, let this Capricorn New Moon remind you that building something meaningful takes time. It unfolds step by step, breath by breath. Take what you need and leave what you don’t. Perhaps begin right here, with this mudra and the practices that support grounded commitment, aligned ambition, and sustainable growth.

🫶🏻Practice Apana Mudra:

WHEN

Around the Capricorn New Moon, when both the sun and moon align in Capricorn’s grounded energy of discerned discipline, aligned ambition, and stepping into your potential.

WHY:

The Capricorn New Moon invites recommitment — not from pressure or proving, but from clarity, steadiness, and self-trust. Apana Mudra supports grounding, patience, and release, helping you anchor into your body as you clarify what truly matters. This practice offers a steady foundation so ambition can be embodied sustainably, with boundaries and discernment guiding each step forward.

Benefits:

• supports grounding, stability, and patience
• encourages release of what no longer serves your goals
• helps calm the nervous system and steady the mind
• supports trust in your body and inner authority
• balances discipline with softness and self-respect
• creates a grounded foundation for aligned ambition

HOW:

  • Find a comfortable seated place, adding support under your sit bones if that feels nourishing.

  • Join the tips of your middle and ring fingers to the tips of your thumbs on each hand.

  • Extend your remaining fingers gently.

  • Rest the backs of your hands on your legs or knees.

  • Soften your shoulders and align your spine, allowing your body to feel supported and steady.

BREATHE:

Begin Left Nostril Breathing to invite in feminine energy to bring clarity and gently balance Capricorn’s masculine drive. This breath soothes the nervous system and calms the body, mind, heart, and spirit.

  • Use your right hand in any way that feels comfortable to gently close your right nostril near the nasal bone.

  • Inhale slowly and deeply through your left nostril.

  • Exhale fully through your mouth.

Continue for 3–5 minutes, allowing the breath to soothe your nervous system and invite balance between effort and ease.

When you’re ready, release control of the breath and continue holding the mudra in quiet awareness.

MANTRA:

Repeat silently or out loud as you hold the mudra, allowing the words to settle into your body and guide your intention for this new moon:

  • With discernment, I commit to what matters.

  • With discipline, I move toward what’s true.

  • With devotion, I build the life and legacy I’m here to live.

EMBODY YOUR INTENTION:

After an exhale, release the mudra and allow your hands to rest where they feel most supported. Take a moment to notice what has shifted — even subtly.

Where in your life are you ready to commit with more steadiness and trust?
What direction feels responsible, aligned, and sustainable right now?

Let your body answer.
Let your breath guide you.
Let discernment and devotion illuminate your next step.

Set an intention on this Capricorn New Moon to move forward with clarity, discipline, and self-respect — building your path one intentional step at a time.

You may choose to write your intention down and place it somewhere you’ll see it as a reminder throughout this lunar cycle.

May it support you as you step into your potential.
