Capricorn Full Moon Mudra: balance your determination, claim your own approval, and let your intuition guide your mission
Welcome to the Capricorn Full Moon:
The Capricorn Full Moon invites you to focus on the mission you are building and the determination that has carried you this far on the journey. This lunation brings illumination to what you are working toward, the discipline already alive in you, and the places where you might still be waiting for someone else's approval before you let yourself move forward. Capricorn asks you to commit to what matters most to you, steadily and on your own terms, and to let your own inner knowing guide each step you take. It is a time to claim your own approval, honor your responsibilities to yourself as much as to everyone else, and trust that the legacy you are creating is truly yours to shape.
Our featured Panchamukha Mudra is a hand shape for focus and balance. Joining all ten fingertips, this mudra supports and balances the right and left sides of your brain, sharpens your concentration, and activates your body's own capacity for healing. It gathers scattered energy into steady, focused presence, which is exactly what this moon asks of you as you recommit to your mission and your own approval. You could also pair this practice with the reflections and embodiment practices in the Capricorn Full Moon Embodied Workbook if you'd like to work more intentionally with this lunar energy.
And if you'd like to move through the lunar cycles in community, our memberships are here to hold you, with live classes, recorded practices, new and full moon workbooks, and an ever-growing library of supportive tools. Check out ways to practice mudras and more with our empowering yoga community on our live class schedule.
Above all, Katrina Marie Yoga is a space to practice, reflect, and remember that your determination is yours to direct. Your approval is yours to give. Your mission is yours to follow. You are allowed to build your life around what is truly yours, steadily and on your own terms.
So take what you need and leave what you don't. Perhaps for now, begin by aligning with the energy of the Capricotn Full Moon through the following mudra and the tools that accompany it.
🫶🏻Practice Panchamukha Mudra:
WHEN:
Around the Capricorn Full Moon, when the moon illuminates themes of balanced determination, focused self-approval, and intuitive mission.
WHY:
This moon asks you to gather yourself and focus on what truly matters to you. Panchamukha Mudra supports this by balancing the two sides of your brain and drawing your scattered attention into steady, grounded focus. As your concentration settles and your body's own healing is activated, you can hold your determination and your inner knowing at the same time, letting both guide your next step. You are allowed to move toward your mission at your own pace, with your own approval as the only permission you need.
BENEFITS:
Integrates the right and left sides of your brain and balances how they word together
Improves your concentration and memory
Activates your body's self-healing ability
Connects to all five elements for full being integration
HOW:
Find a comfortable seat with both sit bones anchored.
Join the tip of each finger on your left hand to the tip of the corresponding finger on your right hand.
Connect the tips of your thumbs too.
Keep these connections, but create space between your palms as if you were holding a globe.
Hold this just above your navel comfortably. Soften your shoulders and align your spine. Sit with the shape for 1-3 minutes.
BREATHE:
Nadi Cleansing:
Find a comfortable seat. Perhaps rest your left hand on your heart. Use your right hand in whatever way feels natural to block your right nostril up near the bony part of your nose. Inhale through your left nostril for one. Block both and be with the breath for four. Open and exhale out your right for two. Pause. Inhale through your right for one, block both and be with the breath for four, exhale out the left for two. Continue for 1-3 minutes before pausing to return to Panchamukha Mudra.
MANTRA:
Repeat silently or aloud:
I use my determination in a steady, balanced way.
The only approval I need is my own.
I let my intuition inform each step on my mission.
EMBODY YOUR RELEASE:
When your practice feels complete, release control of your breath and sit with the hand shape as you reflect. Notice what shifts as you allow the need for outside approval to soften and your own steady self-trust to rise.
Let the Capricorn Full Moon illuminate what is ready to be released: the need for everyone else's approval, the old ways of working that keep you small, and the goals that no longer belong to the life you are building. Allow your own approval to replace the approval you have been waiting for. Feel it in your body.
Invite your breath to settle. Invite your body to soften. Invite your intuition to allow your mission to come into focus.
As you release, may you remember that your approval was never out there to earn. It has been yours to give all along.
May this Capricorn Full Moon remind you that your determination and your intuition are meant to work together, that your own approval is enough, and that the mission you are building is truly yours to shape.
